Popular Post sheepers Posted April 14, 2016 Author Popular Post Share Posted April 14, 2016 so as i said in spam some cunts tried to steal this car. they didn't get very far, my neighbour stopped them in the street. but - they fucked the key barrel and somehow they managed to fuck the clutch/driveline to a point where there is no drive at all. wont know what they did until i pull it to bits which will probably be in the next week. Swan insurance have been fucking magical in working with me to fix whatever has been done. at this stage paying for whatever it is in the driveline thats fucked is a given but they also want me to pull the motor apart for a bit of an inspection to make sure they didn't ruin the motor in anyway (they had the thing pinned on the limiter for about 2 minutes which is why my neighbour got suspicious and went out to have a look) so im going to pull the sump off and a couple of caps and maybe the head too. so yea, i have to pull it all to bits but it could be way worse. 27 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sheepers Posted August 15, 2016 Author Share Posted August 15, 2016 had a couple of issues that are a bit weird/stupid. firstly the fuel rail came loose, or i didn't tighten it properly which resulted in it having weird vacuum issues at idle. caused it to be a bit rich but that problem is fixed. secondly the crank angle sensor shit itself or some reason so i need to replace that. and finally the turbo bearings went fucked. i made the oil drain to small and it pushed oil out the seal into the exhaust but that shouldn't have had any effect on the bearings. they definitely had plenty of oil. but for some reason both shaft bearings and the thrust bearing are fucked. very strange that one but thats what happened. so I've fixed the oil feed and drain, ill order a new crank angle sensor tomorrow and Brendan is fixing the turbo. in theory it should be back on the road by the end of the week. 7 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sheepers Posted August 21, 2016 Author Share Posted August 21, 2016 yea, so it goes really well now. 14 pounds equates to about fuck all rpm so its interesting to drive. its got a LOT of pull from basically idle and it makes boost almost instantly. the joys of a small turbo i suppose. now to do some more Ks in it and see if anything wants to have a melt down. it would be nice if this is the end of things shitting themselves. 8 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
