  1. You can also have pretty wild voltage fluctuations with the ecu regs when they are on the way out. My commodore was all over the show charging voltage wise when the reg was on its way out but didnt throw any codes just noticed because i have a factory voltage gauge. Blairs auto electrical have a massive stock of parts was 120$ and i replaced the reg and rectifier for good measure was relatively simple just need a grunty soldering iron for the rectifier to the windings.

Just a cert question on calliper adapters, these have been previously certed they are adapters for evo brembos to holden commie uprights and clubsport discs. providing they are the correct thickness is the weld holding the two pieces to get the offset correct an issue? as I thought they had to be a single peice?
  5. Awesome story, I have my step dads last bike before he passed away a few years ago he got me into riding as a teen ( also much to my mums dislike) and although nothing special model wise nor my regular kinda bike it holds a special spot.
  6. The 5.7 really comes alive with an OTR intake and a tune, my vz made 242 kw at the rears with rear exhaust and no cats and otr intake was alot of fun. If you look up the intake manifold numbers and you dont have the ls6 one ( came factory on the vy onwards? ) they are also a good cheap upgrade

  10. Ill be honest I wish I had brought it first time round, the quality of flare as you have found is far better. As you have mentioned the only limitation is the one size and you need a bit of extra length with close bends i just flared then did the final bend.

  12. Those tohatsu pumps were great but jesus they were the loudest thing ever during training we had to wait to fire them up until mid morning as not to wake the neighbors. This is a racecar tho it needs a wajax pump….
  13. Hi all would someone be able to pick up a set of brake calipers and rotors hold for me? persons in welcome bay, would transfer you the $$ as its FB marketplace and i dont really want to transfer to him direct for obvious reasons. Have a friend that can come get them just not for 2-3 weeks.
  14. I came to say the same about melbar they shortened a handbrake cable for me recently and it was cheap and done in a week.
  15. Great read , picked up an auto one month so ago myself has the recaros and hid lights. Much much maintenance needed every fluid changed, valve cover gasket, developed a missfire so i did plugs and coils and did a stereo with amped speakers. Has about 4 million stone chips and 230k on the clock but after a full cut and polish the very dull paint came back, the engine is spotless inside and gets 13.7L per k. Found gaskets and air filter ect were cheaper genuine than generic from repco ect

  19. Advice on places to purchase compliant steering universals , Kruzin customs in palmy are out of the size I need 9/16 36 spline to DD x2 to make my intermediate shaft.
  20. my vy 3.8 used to show 8.7-8.8 on a long trip if you were nice to it so its certainly possible with a 3.8 , Ls1 will get around 9.7 same treatment but it does have lean cruise enabled after it was tuned.
  21. From memory there was 2 versions of bluetop big ports the early ones having smaller mains and big ends ect possible that there was some casting revisions between the two.

Yes the bushing does , in my lotus 7 it basically uses a replica of the original 100e pedal with the pivot holes changed to make it reverse swing mount and originally they cut and welded the pedals when converting them. The bushings were braised into the pedal originally have had a friend ream and interference press the original bushing into a profile cut blank but want to weld it to make sure it cant move
  25. Single peice but the bushing and pad can be welded but must be designed in a way where is they fail it can still function. From memory in the manual
