  1. Finally got the car registered and certified, can’t thank @cletus enough for his help, patience and encouragement during the process. Tucked it in next to the triumph, strange bedfellows.
  2. Fast forward a couple months, the car failed on a few things (mostly mechanical) which we had fixed up Mike Bari at nxtlvl automotive. But also found a couple dodgy repairs in the back end which are currently being sorted by Mr Wong at Hughes. My ma and pa are home next weekend (the treatment didn’t provide any positive outcome) so hoping for some summer cruising and a trip to OS drag day for some lols
  3. Dropped it in for compliance today, expecting a few small things that need remedying. Plus an interior shot, love that hurst shifter
  4. This really belongs to my dad but I’d like to chuck a build thread up for those that are interested. This a 68 gt390 Mustang that my dad bought out of the states at the start of the year. He’s always wanted a “bullit” mustang after seeing the movie when it came out, fast forward 50 odd years, and he finally can afford one. The Plan was to get it vinned and ready for the road but unfortunately we ran out of time as he flys out to the states tomorrow with my mum. 2 years ago she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at the age of 65 and is now travelling to Houston as a last ditch effort to receive some effective treatment. So my brother and I will be hoping to have the car ready for them when they return in about 12-18 weeks.
  5. Marcus, I hope dassy passed the workshop manual on. Get started here http://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-guides/tuning-guide-pages/ford-kent-crossflow-tuning-guide.html also put minilites on it and do a sweet single pegger skid.
  6. Bummer. Was all ready to take the boy to his first car show. Wife says 9 week old+rain=bad.
  7. Why isn't 3 on the tree in here? I hear he likes holdens.
  8. wooo 355 stroker! Why you no auto? Shift kitted th350 and a high stall
  9. Unless you really want to own it, I'm not currently using it. Fancy a "long term loan" of it?
  10. Yes. Jesus himself runs a 304 in his bombodore in heaven. Nice purchase! I highly recommend the book How To Rebuild & Hot Rod Your Holden 253 308 by max ellery. Covers 304 also. I have a copy if you are interested
  11. An HQ rusting in the plenum chamber? Now I've seen everything. My brother had the same trouble on his sedan. Had nothing but trouble with replacement plenum panels from rare spares. Ended up repairing the fucked one.
  12. this is parked at my factory(not mine) 944s2 left hook imported from Japan of all places. Unaware of state of rego. Could ask the owner of you are interested
  13. Just jam a pinto in there and be done with it
  14. Roll backwards down the driveway and smack it into D, hang a west side out the window and the ladies will come running.
  15. Before you do anything else, do a skid.
  16. Agree about the rb30 being a great motor, BUT you start to run into problems with the ECU. I'm pretty sure Noah ran one on the ark.
  17. Sweet vl, for my 2 cents worth I would say stay away from a 304 (unless you are a diehard holden fan). I have been down this road myself, I had a 87 vl Calais with an rb30T with all the biz but wanted that "v8 rumble". After buying a few 304 blocks and cranks you quickly start to realise how average a engine they are. Also once you stroke them and up the compression you are looking at an outlay of around $4500-$5000 including machining of block to fit crank and boring of block to fit new pistons/rods. Also it is recommended by most holden guys that you need to run 4 bolt mains. After you start adding this up you realise that an ls1 in the long run will be cheaper and you are able to coax more power out of them easier and safer. But I agree 304s do sound pretty nice. I have a block minus main caps and a set of reconditioned heads sitting in the garage if you decide to roll holden 4lyfe.
  18. What are the shipping costs like from Summit Racing?
  19. This is looking too sweet! Where abouts are you getting the new bits from?
  20. Yes 304 based. 10.5:1. Yes a nice idle.
  21. Sorry to hijack a hijacked thread. Suggested Cam for a stroked 355? Standard heads, 750 holley, th350 with a 2500rpm High stall.
  22. Nice VC! 253s seem to becoming more popular than 308/304s? Paint it Marlboro Brock colors just for lols
