  1. unsure of the style they are factory ones. Will try and get a photo
  2. I have a customer looking for a bolt on brake upgrade for his 1983 MS112 crown. He is aware it will involve a cert as he is fitting a 1JZGE Yes I am using this as a reason to be on old school while at work.
  3. I have a project in planning that will require a lot of chassi mods. Basicly I'm wanting to turn a RWD into a Project a 4WD. The donor vehicle is also independent rear not solid . So the changers basicly are converting to independent rear and running drive shafts in the front. (If only it was that easy) My question is regarding doing chassi mods. I see on the LSTA web site this sort of work needs to be approved before starting. What is involved in getting sign off to start doing the work. I have photos of cars done the same overseas these I intend to use as a basic guide but what else is needed?
  4. I'm putting a 5 speed in my RWD. To fit the box the only thing being changed is the drive shaft. From two piece with CV to one piece . Drive shaft will be built by engineering firm that specializes in drive shafts. floor won't be touched factory mount factory cross member factory bell housing gear box is from same manufacture. Car is factory manual 4speed. Do I need a cert?
  5. From memory David Vizard agrees with Gaz. Been a while since I read his book on the pinto.

    Kit car reg

I'm Looking into building a manx buggy which uses a VW beatle floor pan and drive train. My question is will it be easier to register as a home build or use the reg off the donor car. Will it Still be cheap reg if the donor is older than 40 yrs. I realise either way it will need a cert. It's getting a roll cage harness and race seats
  7. GXL MK1 capri ones are on a pannel that bolts in like a single lucas unit. Trouble is the rare as.
  8. Ok so once it's finished just go and get a Vin
  9. I have a car with dead reg it will need a cert 4 the project I have in mind. I can buy some live plates and tags but would rather do it the right way. What is the right way?
  10. V6 capri use a bigger stub axle than an escort. You may have to get rotors from your local brake specialist. BNT is a good start.
  11. Does the car have ABS? If so could have done the pump. that is big coin. I work for a parts retailer see it done about once a month. ABS has to be bleed as the piston goes back
  12. Think I'll talk to the local cert guy. Car will need a cert any way.
  13. WE'VE GOT FOUR CHAMPION D21. NOT SURE MAY BE TO HOT
  14. No idea about what is causing problem with gear box . But can tell you that palmside motor sport in CHCH do a rebuild kit 4 them. Costs about $350 I think. To use the Toyota box you'll need a new clutch fork. Can use factor one but won't work well with cable set up in capri. Unless you go hydraulic . Have seen people try. And give up wouldn't recommend it.
  15. I work for the biggest independent parts supplier in the country . We have a lot of parts the big players stopped selling years ago. I check if we have any plugs .
