  1. check the TPS too, might have crapped out... I've had a few of them crap out over the years with similar issues.
  2. About 500m from your dads. You probably already know me, I did the photos at his wedding. There isn't any garage space left (for a vehicle anyway), unfortunately... but in saying that I am considering flicking the KE off. That may not be until the end of the year though... Cunts are most welcome to visit. But I don't think we're talking about the same kind...?
  3. Bit of a long shot, but there are a few EB-OS-GC's on here so worth a try... Looking for a flatmate for my place in Ohope. $180pw which includes power/phone/wireless internet/lawns. House is fully furnished except for bedroom. Virtually straight across the road from Ohope Beach, quiet area, ocean views from the balcony. Prefer someone clean and tidy, preferably working and must be able to pay rent on time! No dropkicks. I'm 25, only me here at the moment, I'm pretty quiet and easy going. Don't mind having a beer or 3, but prefer not to have a flatmate who will have 25 mates over every weekend getting drunk trashing the place... If you're interested or even know anyone who might be, flick me a PM on here. Cheers -Matt
  4. The handbrake cable in the Corolla snapped and I need to replace it... one problem - all I know is it's out of a Hilux, so I'm trying to find the exact model. Guy from the local wreckers seemed fairly certain it is from a 2WD Hilux, around LN85 model, but he says there are two types with different bolt spacing (around 45mm and 65mm). The bolts on my cable are approx 64mm apart. Total cable length is approx 125cm, but it has been stretched before snapping so this may be a bit off, although I'm fairly certain this is close to the original length. Using Trademe + Carjam, I've found a couple of models around the LN85 series, and putting these vin numbers in to ToyoDIY, the cables from the two models below have a slight resemblance to mine... 1989 Toyota Hilux 1.8 Single Cab 2WD Engine: 2Y Chassis: YN85 1989 Toyota Hilux 2.4 Single Cab 2WD Engine: 2L Chassis: LN85 Still a bit of a guessing game though, so ideally what I need is someone who can ID exactly what model the handbrake cable has come off. If you know of someone with a Hilux around the same era as those above, could you please check it out and see if it looks the same, maybe measure the bolts and get a couple of photos. Photos below are of my cable. Any info would be hugely appreciated. Thanks -Matt
  5. Walking distance from town, depending on how intoxicated you are... http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?q=140+Lon ... 9,,0,-2.01
  6. Just had mine oil lines off lastnight, and its got a 2mm hole for my journal bearing turbo. Steve Murch explained it all to me in really simple terms, now I can't remember any of it... something like it doesn't need any massive pressure at all, just a constant oil supply for the bearing to float on and it wasn't the pressure which kills the seals but the volume going passed them... probably way off there though... Short answer was just put a restrictor on. First turbo I put on shat itself with oil coming out anywhere it could, second turbo I fitted a restrictor and its been fine since. I've got a brass fitting which goes directly into the turbo core, which the oil line connects to. Filled the centre of the brass fitting with braising, then drilled the hole through it... simple as
  7. Firestone and Beaurepaires have been the most expensive every time I've priced tyres. Total Tyres (think they're the ones on Te Tahi St) are reasonably cheap I think, but I normally use Grants Automotive (opposite BP).
  8. Mine did that a couple of times, first time was when the sender wasn't earthed, second time was when the sender unit was stuffed.
  9. Sweet as, will do. PM me your number, and maybe what I'm supposed to be picking up might help I'll get in touch with VG to pick it up
  10. Need to be on the boat by 8pm, so will be at the viaduct around 7ish. Might be in Auckland earlier in the day if we come up to visit family though, otherwise I don't think we'll be leaving in a hurry Sunday morning. No idea where we'll be staying yet though...
  11. Will be in Auckland for a 21st on the 21st. Its on a boat (really) so will be around the Viaduct somewhere, would you be able to pick up from there?
  12. Will be going from Whakatane to Auckland on Jan 21st, and probably again the following weekend for the 4 & Rotary Nats if all goes to plan.
  13. nah can do it anywhere, just need to get a different form when you go in I think... or something like that anyway...
  14. Last one I drilled through (accidently) was about 3 - 5mm max from memory, not thick at all. This was up the front on the side though, back end might be a bit thicker.
