    It could give you a good excuse to split the case and reseal it with some fresh case sealant and new gaskets? While your in there it wouldn't hurt to throw in a couple new crank bearings, maybe port out the intake channels in the case and polish everything in there while it's apart...

    Now for some actual progress, sort of anyway. New levers came today, still a touch long but at least usable, really do want some BWS/Zuma/Jog 100 controls and levers though I think. Fitted the bars to the scoot, then fitted the levers to the bars Drilled out the adjuster thread on the rear to take a scooter style cable. Haven't got a throttle grip that plays nice with the Jog style controls (think there actually from a Kymco looking at the markings) So I tried out the Kitaco throttle and AliExpress switch Still undecided on them though, if I do run this switch I 100% will be running the lights through a relay and NOT running any decent current through the switch! Brake bled up nicely, lever has a nice feel to it etc too. Need to figure out a plan for combining early stage Gyro, late stage Gyro and custom wiring into a tidy cohesive loom!

    Been too long between updates! Nothing too exciting to post though, my shorter (hopefully) levers left China a few days ago so are at least on the way, dash went Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur, fingers crossed next stop is NZ haha! Been mucking around with small bits and pieces, was going to do the switch wiring but have decided to wait until I've got the new dash just so I don't have to redo any of the wiring when it gets here. I know it's been covered on the forum before, but meh, acidic rust removal: took the seat mount bracket/hinge parts which looked like this on both sides: Added white vinegar Started bubbling pretty much instantly! Realized my container was way too small and swapped it out into a bigger one. Checked on it a few hours later: After less than 24 hours I ran the bits under the tap and gave them a wipe up with a rag, result! Ready for a quick scuff up and a coat of black paint

    Seller said I was sent mid length levers, have got a pair of shorties coming now.

    Look at the distance between the mirror mount and the adjuster on the lever. /Shit pic I know, but there's a decent difference in both length and the reach distance.

    Time for a little update I think. Thursday arvo I chucked the bracket that the battery hold down bolts to/the battery cover attaches to along with some very rusty bolts into some white vinegar to soak for a couple hours, then I promptly forgot about them on the bench and went out of town for a few nights lol. Took my AF35 front wheel and one of my spare CVT covers along for a ride to Auckland, can't remember if it was this cover or the worse one now @Mr Vapour worked his magic on them and they now look like this Bit of a drastic improvement! Grabbed a Pirelli SL26 and a couple (wrong) lights from Scootling And then today my levers arrived from Aliexpress and I got my parts back from the powder coaters, so happy I went with satin black, looks like the factory Honda finish! Of course the levers aren't going to work though. Aliexpress indicators look the part to me though! Remember the bolts I forgot? I didn't get any before pics, but they looked trashed and the bracket was 2 tone bad black paint and rust. We got home early hours this AM and the Mrs complained the house stunk of vinegar and metal... oops Quick rinse under the tap I'm impressed!

    WeBike is the go for genuine, way better pricing than anyone on Yahoo/Amazon/Honda NZ. Just need to already have the part numbers. Need to find a nice little speedo and couple other bits, also maybe one more WeBike order for some little bits and pieces.

    Time for another update? Might as well be! This afternoon I started assembling some of the new genuine parts, first off the new battery cover got a black knobing Then I fitted up the air vent flap to the new cowel, with all new screws and spring etc, genuine decal was the cherry on top lol + Need to talk to @Archetype about doing some replacement/custom Gyro stickers at some point too. Among the parts that came this morning was every bolt m6 and smaller from a wrecked Gyro in Japan, I just needed 4 that hold the floor on as mine were rusted out, they were 263JPY each for new ones from Honda (they have an oddball sized shank piece so are Honda specific), I got every single bolt from a Gyro for something like 250JPY, my mate in Japan kept all the bigger ones among his stash which helped to keep the shipping weight down. Soaked them all in vinegar for a few hours and they all look like new now, mint!

    Parcel from Japan arrived this morning Million times better than the floor mount I was dealing with. Fucked up my list and ordered a new battery hold down piece rather than the battery seat I need. Just waiting on my levers to arrive and I think I'll be about ready to get it back together!

    @Vintage Grumble are you able to do small belts? You likely know, but that looks to be a Toyota Prius water pump, probably the best thing to come from a Prius lol Got carb specs in your book there?

    Dropped the bars, front and rear racks and headlight loop in to be powder coated satin black today, some AliExpress indicators arrived yesterday, ordered black but received chrome, quick paint will sort that and the seller gave a full refund too. Got an email earlier that some bits arrived in the country from Japan this arvo and will be here in the morning, hopefully the levers from Aliexpress don't take tooo long! Need to strip the anodizing off the front wheel/forks and attempt to give them a polish, need a new front tyre too. https://i.imgur.com/AkaOAh1.jpg

    Crank seals could, but I'd think it would be a bitch to start if they were that gone. Normally cheap and easy enough to change at least, even if there not the cause it sounds like there due to be refreshed anyway.

    Michelin S1! Metzeler ME1 are meant to be a really good tyre too. I'm still struggling to get my head around it having such a large MJ in there lol, by all rights that should be absolutely drowning a 49cc engine!

    Just at a quick glance I think it's a CE50, so it's 1986 or 87 I'd say. Could be CG50 but that bent front fork style screams CE to me, CG has the same vertical Minarelli engine as the CE but with a touch more power tuned out of it. Edit: Frame number should be stamped in the frame just in front of the engine, should be visible if you have a look under it.

    That's sweet!! The old school Jogs like that are harder to find a lot of performance parts for, isn't a huge range of pipes and cylinders etc to choose from these days.

    Just be careful when/where you use it, especially if you don't have a firearms license. Believe it or not it is classed as an A category firearm as it's a pre-charged pneumatic airgun. I shit you not!

    Yeah that sounds like lean hang too, have you tried adjusting the low speed/idle mix screw? You no doubt already know the drill but set it to a fairly low idle, wind in the mix screw until it starts wanting to cut out, then wind it back out until you find the point where it idles highest, then fine tune in tiny increments to get the best throttle response. I'm still WTF'ing at the 102mj, I'm at something like 107 with a pipe on a ported 70cc and open filter!

    Seriously a 102mj?? I would have thought stock would have been in the 65-75 range. Either way that does look lean for sure. How old is the plug? And is there any brown on the smoke ring? This is from my Suzuki after a 1.5k WOT run, new plug, straght to WOT and no mid throttle. Borderline lean looking, but I'm happy with the CHT.

    Less than $8 scored this on Yahoo Can't even get the little battery bracket that's on it for twice that price from Honda.
