  1. Yeah she just wants a five speed. Meh fuckit it can stay a 4. too much hassle.
  2. Haha nah, HC Viva, if it fits a chevette though it'd probably fit a viva easily enough.
  3. Cheers didn't think there was but im not into my vauxs. Nah its my girls car n she wants it fairly original, won't even lower it
  4. Is there a 5 speed box that will bolt up to a 1256 or are they only 4 speeds? Would probably need new driveshaft to if so, looking for a bolt in replacement. Cheers
  5. Don't really check this section but fuck im keen to come down from keri if there a gathering happening, PM me with any contact details or whenever somethings happening. Jon
  6. Auto shaft has larger spline so won't fit.
  7. the tail section on the tina box is an inch or so longer than the esky one, the yokes are the same though, think the only option would be to shorten the std one to suit.
  8. Kinda had the same problem in my mk3, cept it was 4spd to 5spd, i ended up using a auto cortina X member, not sure if that will work though. Any pics?
  9. no coil doesn't effect starter, is it pre engaged or inertia?
  10. chuck a screwdriver across the two contacts on the solenoid(make sure its not in gear, did that myself and scared the shit outa myself) if it turns over could be having same problem as mine, it wasnt earthing properly when trying to turn it over from the ignition but was sweet when using a screwdriver, putting a few bolts through it sorted that. make sure its earthed and try jumping it again. At the moment im thinking coil doesn't effect starter, but im fucked atm so i could be wrong.
  11. On my scort if the solenoid wasnt bolted down it wouldnt earth properly and wouldnt crank over, is it inertia or pre engaged?
  12. Did you swap the coil out? You sure theres no resistance wire in there?

If its got a separate solenoid i.e. not attached to the starter, it's inertia, but there should only be on contact on the back of the starter which goes to the solenoid, then the negative battery cable goes to the other contact on the solenoid/i think. did mine a week ago but sold the car so can't check. 90% positive though.
