Spotted in Christchurch and in the mountains west of Timaru. Looks to have the back of the cab opened up

The Chev is probably a K5 Blazer.

They were kind of like the Surfs where you could remove the rear canopy.

  2. What @drftnmaz had said is exactly how some places operate, you can scoff it as much as you like but it all comes down to the auditors. Sure a WOF place won’t over look a collapsed component because you’ve got a light out but an auditor will use a grey area of the legislation to mark a place down because it will make them look good in their job to show that they can pick failures.  Personality types play a huge factor in it and if you can avoid dealing with that by ensuring you don’t have the auditor arriving all the time then you’ll do that.

  3. Looks like a lot of money’s worth of work and parts in it, someone might pay it given the price situation at the moment.  Hopefully for him they do.

I do find it amusing that he will increase the price if he has to get it certified.  It’s already 110k!

I've checked the VIRM and I think its a no, but does a side window (IE: Drivers window) have to operate for a WOF or is it OK if it is stuck up (or down)?

    Nope.

Well..   either that or the checkers didn’t bother for my mates Prelude that had wood holding the window up for several checks…

edit: didn’t see the next page that Rog had already replied.

  5. I mean...

    Are you sure it is?

Because you know it will work.  It's been done before.

Sounds more to me like a "all my toys are locked away in storage at the moment and I have ants in my pants to fuck with something" experiment...
