  1. This was the stuff I was looking at, unsure how well it wears, though would be reasonably painless to re do every 12-18months if you had to I guess, possibly similar maintenance if i was to polish and clear coat anyway
  2. I have been looking out for some 17 inch head 40's for a while and managed to pick some up today thanks to a mate that spotted some at a wrecker. Problem is the chrome is in average condition. Re plating seems to be huge money. Only other option I was thinking was to remove the chrome then polish and clear coat. Easy chome paint on the net seems to give good results, anyone tryed it on wheels? Does it last? Any other ideas? Cheers

  5. I wouldnt think you can swap the second generation 1uz airflow meters with the first as the first gen are 5 volt and the second are 12volt? I think the second gen are a hot wire airflow sensor and first gen aren't so the Ecu might not like it.
  6. The lower ball joints are different on the 65's compared to other models as they are smaller, looks like you have been given 85-130 ones, the upper ball joints are all the same. I found the 65 lower ones are hard to come by, could be quicker and easier to get the original ones rebuilt.
  7. this is what i ended up doing, fpc ecu output through circuit kept triggering fuel pumps to turn on constantly when ign switched on, alternator warning lamp feed produced 0.7v with ign switched on (meant to be earth until engine running) which was also enough to switch fuel pumps on. mate came up with this idea to wire handover relay to trigger cor and seems to work well so far. \
  8. tried a few circuits last few days couldn't get it to work, going to try tachometric relay tomorrow and run off the ignitor, see how it goes.
  9. I made one up last night based on e30-323ti's link. is the only thing you have earthed is the one diode? or are both earthed? purple wire is signal in and green signal out? I have earthed the second resistor, diodes, and capacitor, so I might have fuked it up. ill have another crack and follow yours tonight.

  11. cheers for the help, apparently a tachometric relay can be used which takes the pulse from the fpc pin, i will give it a go.
  12. one pinout diagram i found has said there is a fuel pump pin...... 'This pin outputs a 0V to 5V Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal which is connected to the Fuel Pump ECU to control fuel pump speed. ' fuel pump ecu? does anyone know if i put this to 12v relays if would still trigger the pumps to go on?
  13. i have a soarer 1j, plugs are different but if theres a fuel pump pin for the supra there should be for the soarer, the pinout diagram i have been using didnt show it, ill see what i can find and check it out, thanks.
