  1. Sick!! Cant wait to see this thing on the road
  2. Yea I love it. Hopefully going to sort out the lowering this week sometime if I get a day off work. Wagon was getting heaps of attention today when I was out driving it. Even had two old guys toot and give me the thumbs up haha
  3. Got wheels fitted after trying out the second size tire. Ended up with 165/65/15s on these 15x7 0 offset rims. They only just fit in the rear gurads. Had to cut a little bit off the lip of the guard to get abit of clearance from the rim, no way it would have worked without stretching the tires on. But I reackon they look really good. Just need to lower the front, might even lower the back a bit to, will see what happens. Took it for a drive out to Tutukaka today for lunch and got some photos on the way back in.
  4. Made a box for in the back for the 6x9s, and while I was checking out how I could mount the 4'' speakers in the front I noticed that there was heeeaps of room under the seats so thats were I decided to put them (cant see them at all unless your down on the floor). Also made a template to put the head deck in the glove box, then came home and made it with some thin custom wood I had lying round. Turned out pretty good, wasn't a lot of room in the glove box, is a Weird shape, which is why the head deck is right on the bottom. Now just need to wire up speakers and try and sort out hooking up the main power and the acc wire for the head deck, have only ever put them in newer vechiles so havn't wired one up before, just used the adapter things. Vinyl turned out alright on the box's, didn't really Know how to do it around the ends Think it will look good when its in and cleaned, just need to trim vinyl slightly when I fit it, left it over hanging a bit.
  5. Well the wheels arrived on Friday and my mate from Mag and Turbo ordered in some tires for them, was going to be a very tight fit without stretching tires on, but we got the right size just to see if it would work. Took the wagon down there this morning hoping that they were going to fit, turns out they didn't, so now were ordering in some narrower tires which will be stretched on which will hopefully be enough for these rims to work, otherwise might have to roll the guards a bit. So will have to try have a early day at work next Tuesday so I can go down and get them put on. Was pretty gutted they didn't fit so ended up going and buying a head deck and some speakers which im hopefully going to put in tomorrow. Going to make a box for the 6x9s to go in the back, which ill cover in the same vinyl as the seats. Couple I brought it off threw in a roll of it which they had brought for it but hadn't used. Going to put the head deck in the glove box and will mount the 4'' speakers underneath the dash on the little parcel tray thing out of sight I think. So heres a photo of what I got, didn't think it came with a remote, was stoked when I opened it up and there was one in there. Next photos will be with new wheels on and possibly lowered aswell
  6. How long ago was that? The couple I brought it off were really nice and had owned it for 17 years. Gave me three folders of paper work with nearly all the wof sheets, all the work they had done to it. Even the original ownership/registration form. They put a scepter 1725 motor and box in it. It was the ladys car and she said she drove it nearly everyday. Yea I dont wana go to low but once I get the new rims and tires ill see how it looks.Might jusr need to lower the front abit
  7. This is my 1964 Hillman, Will keep updating as I get things done to it, wheels and lowering are first on the list. http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=36084
  8. Hi, recently brought this 1964 Hillman Super Minx Estate. Cars in pretty good nick, will get the body sorted next year, rust removed and probably full re paint. Brought the wagon off trade me, couldn't resist and pressed the buy now. Drove the car from Auckland back up home to Whangarei. Went really well, was surprised with how well it ran. So heres a few pics from trade me. Brought some wheels today so Im hoping they will turn up on Friday so I can get them on this weekend so will post new photos once there on and its been lowered a bit.
