    EE90 carb swap

I have a variable venturi type and I'm trying to fit a fixed venturi carb. Seems all the vacuum, full and wiring is very different. If I could find some diagrams I'd be able to work it out.
  2. The selector on them is the worst design I have ever seen. Once the gearbox gets hot it goes into 'magic select' mode. 'Magic select' is a system of gear selection where you change down (for example) and get one gear down, or a false neutral before it, or a false neutral after it, or the next gear below it. Until you let out the clutch you'll be completely unaware of whether you're even in 'magic select' mode or not. Trust me - I used one of these engines in a race bike.
  3. No reason for posting this. Just thought some of you might be interested. It's a Pre89 F3 class bike I built from bits I had. An 89 ZXR250 frame with a 78ish RD400 engine. All parts are Pre 89 except the electronic ignition and the tyres. Engine has been modified from a 180° firing interval to a 270° interval - because I could. Std (rejetted) carbs, HVC chambers, Ignitech programmable ignition. Not competitive (especially with me on it) but great fun to ride, and a beautiful sound. Slowly developing the bike to be better and faster. Yamaha claimed 45hp (same as Kawasaki for the ZXR250) and this currently has 48hp at the rear wheel without any engine mods.

    EE90 carb swap

Hi. I have an EE90 Corolla that has the slide type carburettor. At present $40 gas gets me about 120kms... I'm hoping to swap the carb out for a later model venturi type (I already have one). Has anyone here done this? It looks like there is an additional wire or two and several bits of pipework that are different. I'm hoping for some advice/experience to avoid buying two manuals and working it out.
  5. Thanks for the advice toyworld. No big surprises - that's good. It looks like it might be easier if I remove the radiator hose, A/C pump and P/S pump just for access. See how I go.
  6. Hi everyone, anyone know where there's a good article on 4AGE cambelt changing? I searched here and looked for a free manual on the interweb but not found one. Just don't want to remove more than I have to and make sure I do the job right. The 4AGE is in an AE92 FX.
