what engine? some of the yanks love to dress up the POS 4.0 V6 versions. I don't really understand their value - they cost like $50k to buy brand new to begin with and are literally thrown away after just a few years in the US.

I have a mate that imported an 07 GT500 Shelby a month ago - he said he got it in the country and fully complied including an upgrade kit (smaller supercharger pulley) to 640hp for about NZ$50K. (he said they are around US$30K to buy)

There is no need to do the LHD conversion either.. (just can't sell it for 4 years)

If I was to put that on the yard, i'd call it $45k
For insurance purposes i'd say the value is 50k, real world prices at present say i'd get driven down to 40ish before I found a buyer.

you could buy a brand new GT mustang for less than 30k USA money....sticker price is only 31k. v6 base model could be had for less than 20k as sticker price is like 22k. I seen them trying to get rid of new v6 mustangs for like 16,995 when i was in florida

dunno how much it costs to import cars from usa but yeh...

Its not overly expensive to import.

I would usually allow about 4-5k including expenses (from the west coast) but then GST stings it big time.

I have used Famous Pacific Shipping (FPS) for 4 mustangs, just give them a call and they are happy as to give you a quote.

As far as the price of the cars goes in NZ, people try and get more for converted cars because they have usually pumped >$20,000 into converting them, and in my opinion they are worth much less after they are converted.

Unless you are driving it daily and don't want to drive LHD. I would say get something from the states (somewhere without snow)
