Hi everyone,

I'm totally new to this forum. I had a 87 toyota cressida as my daily driver during the past few years.

Unfortunately, it seems that I have to rebuild my engine now as it has been smoking for a long time and it's using too much oil by now.

As the engine is the 2.0 L 1G-EU, I wasn't able to find any parts for it in my country( New caledonia).

After a few researches, it seems that this kind of engine has only been sold to Europe, Japan and New zealand.

As the car is in a collector condition, I'd like to rebuild the engine.

At first I thought it would be nice to upgrade to a superior motor, but I don't really need.

It would be use only to cruise. Any idea if any shop could get me the parts needed for a full rebuilt?

Sorry if the english isn't perfect, I haven't been practising recently.

Little precision(not sure if needed) :

Engine burns lot of oil(there was too much oil in the engine when I got it. About 3 cm over the line on the gauge).

Also, the gauge recently began to pop out of its place while driving.

Maybe rebuilding the engine would not be necessary, but as I would disassemble everything, then why not?

try www.staparts.co.nz
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
