Pic-less update been on the mad hunt for parts this week ive found a guy with some bits ive gotta go look at tonite and i picked up a crossmember was told its out of a ke30 turns out its a kp60 one so not sure if its going to work :(

can anyone tell me how much different is ae85 crossmember engine mount points from the ke35 one as its got a ae85 one in there for the 4age and that conversion is on hold i want it on the rd so just putting a k motor back in to get some use well i save up for the more costly bits

also i need seat rails can anyone tell me are kp starlet ones the same or dx rolla's or any other cars got rails that will fit a ke35.

oh and if anyone knows someone wrecking a c33 luarel with gray seatbelts i would like the front pair as they have the pillerless bits to hang from the roof

cheers in advance for any answers to the above :)

had a little play in the weekend
heres a pic of the engine bay as it is at the mo it use to be super clean and shinny but its thick with dust at the mo
the whole car was going to be hothouse green but the paint got used on another car so the next choice was the tin of toxic green that was there that will do for now look at changing it down the track might have to mod the guards to fit my dream wheels if i ever get them ;)
Posted Image

then decided to try my 13x7 superlites on

Posted Image
got a small issue with the rear guards rubbing but the car wont be that low at wof time coz at the mo its got no bump stops and the leaf springs are bolted in upside down
Posted Image

15" rims look better planing on getting some dished ones i would run the supra ones but all the tyres are stuffed so the 13" got good tyres since im on a tight budget to get it on the rd can had a good car like this locked away.

so half way through cleaning up inside bits to put it back together still deciding if i'll put carpet in or not as the floor is all clean with all tar removed

trying to find some chrome corners trim for the rear windscreen once the window is in the car will be water tight and i can bring it back to my house and progress will be faster

long term goal is to have it on the road for nats nex year ready for ROAD TRIP!!

well been busy as trying to find all the bits i need found most bits to do the downgrade to get back on the road

still nead
* seat rails
* engine crossmember for ke30/35/36
* seatbelts from a c33 really want gray ones
thinking of finding another set of doors so i could have a set with handles
also a tidy rear bumper might be on the to find cards

bad part of the story shut the door tonite and the window smashed so now i need a drivers side window

parts i got so far
another diff with working brakes
rear shocks
front struts and uncut springs
4k
k40 (which will have to be changed as it wont fit)
door cards in the build
window washer bits
wiper motor
bucket seats
some inside trim
headlights and bowls

this is the new engine
Posted Image

door cards need some stock ones to use as template
Posted Image

gave engine bay a quick wipe down
Posted Image

test fitting a couple old gauges
Posted Image

new rear diff installed and leafs fliped up the right way got all new bush's in the rear end now just need some lowering blocks to complete the rear
Posted Image

donno what the hell is going on got the uncut springs in and its MEGA 4x4 spec can fit my head between guard and wheel its BAD  going to have to cut a couple coils and try keep it captive till got coin to get shorter inserts and some better springs
Posted Image

i can understand it sitting that high with no engine but all the weight is there in the front and it goes a little higher when i jack it up
Posted Image
need to get the front back to this with captive springs tho

Posted Image

then it was time to get on to the real work
dug out the rear bump i got with the car its in a poor state has some good classic bumper stickers but not going to go well with the rest of the car
Posted Image

striped the front off to clean up some over sprey issues and finish some rust proffing plus pull the 4age out to put the 4k back in (so it will see the road in time for nats) I HOPE
Posted Image

rear bumper fitted and muffler dumbyed up to see if it will do (it will pass for now)
Posted Image

Posted Image

motor ready to come out and looking at sorting those front springs out asap decided 4x4 mode in the coupe not my style

also i need advise on best way cost effective way to paint crossmembers so that it lasts
and the plastics for inside the car thanks in advance :)

things were going real easy and good to good to be tru i knew there was a issue coming
can you see what the issue is
Posted Image

maybe a zoom in
Posted Image
and before ya say thats easy get a bar and leaver it over and in the photo dosn't show as clear that its not even touching one side on and the other side dosn't reach

so spent the nex few hrs rushing round to see people i know who might have a answer and found these

STRESS!!! :bom: :cyclopsani: :shaking2:

appears to be no time left going to be cutting it bloody fine if i make it once the stress is gone and i have time to look throught photos i will do a photo dump in here

so last nite reached a major point started engine with the key put it in gear and drove it for bout 2 mins till the carb ran out of fuel as i havn't got a fuel tank yet

today at work well the boss not looking ive been building the front bumper and modding the seatbelts to try custom fit them nothing dodgy here  and painting a few more bits of trim,
after work im hopin to rip into lowerin the front and finishing plumbing up tank then gotta take it to finish getting welded :pale: hoping he can hav it done by tommorrow nite

so far brakes and hand brake seem to work ok its going to be a long nite trying to get as much done as poss once the front is lowered all the guards and bumper etc will go bak on and bolt most of the trim in then just look at minor wof issues, wof by the weekend would be good for a road test

Went in to town at lunch time to get some parts to work on during a slow work day and my partners bro was having a slow day and had mounted up the fuel filler on the fuel tank taken it to finish getting welded and leak tested it :D just have to plumb the fuel line up and got a full running car

and my custom modded seatbelts appear to fit another plus

so new plan for tonite sort out front end lowering
little bit of under sealing
adjust doors
put all front end back on
put some of the inside trim in and seat belts
do some more wires

don't think that will all get done tonite but gonna give it a good crack if i make it tonite might try a wof check tommorrow

one can be hopfull :)
