This here is a long term project of mine it belonged to my parents they were the second owners of it and they have given it to me now i still have all the original owners papers right from the day it was first put on the rd

this is when i decided to go pick it up from my parents to get it back on the rd for the Hot Rod Nats in blenheim

cleaning up the holly carb fixing the leaks from it sitting for so long also had to replace recon and fix every part of the break line since it was last used in 2000

also gotta watch your head on the bonnet latch it in just the right place to bang your head on
all good on the rd at the park up for the Nats cruse

even managed to find some time to put a little doof doof in there in the form of a cd mp3 head unit some 6x9s and 2x12" subs

not much of a update coming up to wof time and got a little rust that needs fixing also going on a cruze to kaikora on the 25th sep with some of the local hot rod guys should be intresting and im sure i will be sponsering a fuel station with the amount of fuel it will take me to get there lol

Right so on Friday i decided to pull this car out of the shed get it running back on the road and take it for a club run

so i got it out was almost a inch thick with dust so once cleaned that off then set to work starting it first issue i found there was no fuel in the tank which i thouhgt was odd as when i parked it there i had put $50 in, so grabed a fuel can went got $40 of fuel and poored it in,
started to wind it over still not pumping fuel up to the engine so i pulled the fuel hose off the pump put some fuel in a drink bottle and put hose it wound it ova boom fired to life to cut the story short i found that the oldschool water trap bowl had wont seal so i have bypassed it

sadly didn't take any pics of what it looked like and what i did but there is pics come

took it in to the wof man FAIL brake balance and wipers they are old style vacume ones and have never worked well so went home and adjusted the brakes up and cleaned and tried to fix the wipers back for recheck FAIL wipers still not good but he decided to let it go and the brake when from 45% down to 65% down so what worse DAMN drove it up the rd slaming the brakes on and off drove straght back in for re-check BAM worked fine that time PASS

got home and noticed a puddle on the ground turns out the seal on the drain bung on the fuel tank was gone turned to dust that is were my $50 had gone 1 drip at a time drained the fuel and pulled the bung out made a new gaskit thing put it back on all sealed looks to be the goods no more leaks wish i had found that before loseing so much fuel

so on sunday the Sun valley Roadstars had a club meet for some food and to talk some shit it was this point i had my camera out and took some pics ENJOY

hope to have a few more updates since its road legal now goal is to make it cheaper to run as over one weekend i almost used $150 in fuel alot of that leaked but some of that is due to carb and running issues that we are working on im also looking at changing the diff ratio to try improve 100km rpm to make it lil more eco
