Here's the motor just after I got it

The Red Bull coil cover looked good, but unfortunately it kept overheating the coil, so it was pulled off and I'm currently remodelling a new version that doesn't insulate it.

Bit of paint and a degrease really helps! The motor is painted in Ford engine blue just to be different, as the previous owner didn't want a green motor. I have converted the car to electronic ignition using the Pertronix Ignitor kit - this has made such a difference with the performance and fuel economy of the car! Soon to be added to the motor are my genuine Cooper extractors, so will be running 998 Cooper spec soon!

Finally got the boot floor carpeted 2 weeks ago - makes it look way better!

While I was down the back end of the car, thought I might take some photos of the RC40, and to find out it's genuine! :P

The latest thing I have done to the car is to repaint the sump, when I repainted the motor, It looked real good until you saw the oily black and bare metal sump, so a quick clean and a coat or Ford Blue engine paint - good as new!

31st of May the June issue of NZ Classic Car came out, with the full feature of the Mini, but suprisingly it made the cover as well!

Here is a few photos of the feature and the link to the article on the NZCC website

Since the feature, I have redesigned my coil cover, now using a Monster Energy can cut down so the coil won't overheat on me this time!

Bought a heap of parts just after the Pork Pie Charity Run off Lee at Minibitz, including a new grille, Paddy Hopkirk accelerator pedal extension and new dash cards to replace the ones that got burnt in a small electrical fire on New Years Day. Also a set of trick quick release bonnet hinges which make working on the the car so much easier!

Other than that nothing major has been done with the car for a while, just keeping it clean and attending heaps of car shows!

Here's a couple of photos I took while at Lake Waihola yesterday
