Disco thread;
http://oldschool.co....ge__hl__sparkle

Check out this MMMEEAAANN ute.
Apparently 55 thou kms. Sweet condition, other than a lil bit of rust.
Filthy J15 powered. 4 on the tree. Which rules. I heart column change.
Bench seat for the ladiez.
Plans are to slam like a gang wife, and either add whitewalls to standy rims or some h00ge diam steels in a solid contrasting colour. Not too sure yet.
Anyway

I have been repairing the rust on this sweet whip...

It has been quite rusty, with each repair leading to the discovery of more rust. But, seeing its so lush, its worth doing! And fortunately, its not really cosmetic rust either, mainly firewall stz. So yea, here are some pics of rust removal and patches being welded in. There are some before shots, but they are on another camera. So will update when i get to that camera. It has had true fielding spec repairs in the past, had builders paper over all the rust, and then underseal over that. As yuck as it sounds, its actually pretty good at hiding the rust as it didn't look very rusty at initial glance. Anyway, here's how it went/is going:

As you can see, there is rust in both layers....

Can really see the extent of the rust. There was rust under rust behind rust....

But now theres NONE!!! win

Welds just need cleaning up, then nobody will ever know they were there... hah

So yea, been hacking away at this. Not as much as i had hoped due to unfortunate circumstances with my own vehicles. But have been knocking a bit away each weekend. By hector is this rusty though! Nothing i cant fix :P

So here is some progress:

Rust in a door (cant remember which one)

Nasty, potentially window out rust:

Passenger guard:

Other door finished:

Firewall finished:

Rust cut out of guard:

For both of the doors i had to make up the inner frame too as well as the outer skin. Because it had all rusted away.
Luckily only in small isolated areas.
Back of drivers door (making the folded lip was satisfying):

Back of passenger door:

Will post more pics when i have time (aka next weekend) gotta hoon back to wellintron now....

so a couple of lil sweet bits I picked up from the swapmeet, including mexican blanket and chrome half headlight covers. A leaf has been ripped out! Zomg! Lowered it in rear very marginally, as seen in side on pic below, but made it a lot sweeter going over bumps. Which rules.
Bizzo also wacked out some sweet club 33 stickers too. Che!

Well this little sucker failed it's wof on rust. Mainly on the cheese-grater above the RHS door. I was down at a pannys down the road about a month ago and saw a guy down there I knew from school. Said he'd be keen to have a burn on it at home. Turns out he's doing a friggin sweet job.
Got him to do the A pillar while he was there. Yay finally a smooth A pillar!

Couple o' pics of the tray painted up in the 'bed liner' paint. Similar finish to a tuff deck.
