identify hq wb diff ratios

Ok cause he's saying its about 3.0

 

 

No such thing as a 3.0:1 ratio in those.

 

3.08:1 or 2.78 are the closest. A 3.08:1 ratio is getting harder to come by nowadays as they were always one of the first ratio choices for putting behind a warmed up HQ-WB.

 

Are there any marks on pinion shaft ( or elsewhere) to identify the ratio and if its LSD long way to travel to find its the wrong diff

 

He needs to remove the rear plate in order to find the ratio, as has been said it's stamped on the crownwheel.

It may have an LSD tin tag affixed to the filler plug denoting an LSD differential but these are easily removed and swapped so it is not worth trusting.
