427carguy
Picked this up of Crusty wip (Kane) yesterday... So im thinking that im going to build it into a café racer style bike even tho its a step thru. Something like this... I don't have the rear wheel yet so its only a front sitting in there for a photo. Its also getting a repower, im not sure what yet (if you have anything cool/fast hit me up) I do have his kt100 kart engine which is tempting me but it is direct drive single speed, so would only really be keen if I could sort a cable spec clutch and maybe a gearbox. Anyway ill just wing it.
Mitch.W
use the clutches that they use for junior restricted kt100's would work sweet, would still haul ass, would be a wild ride haah
427carguy
Yea i thought about them but they will cost alot for a cheap bike and will suck carrying around a starter box

427carguy
So made a café tail and bolted it to a bit of wood to make a basic seat pan so I can work out what needs to be trimmed off the bike. I cut the end off the rear guard and slit and widened Not sure if Ill stay with that's style or not but it but it will do for now

427carguy
The bike had a bit of a fat ass, Its way wider than the seat so it got a trim Now its the same width as the seat. Hopefully ill be getting an engine in the weekend then the real work can start, watch this space for some awesome 2 strokeness

Chris.QCR
That's worked a treat to fill the space the horizontal engine would've left . Nice bro!
kicker
I assume you're going hardtail, would be hard to maintain chain tension with the engine position and having any swingarm movement. Tail unit and seat are looking sweet
MKD
I've got cad files of a stem plate for lower bars if you need. check my build thread (stupid thing wont post a link) 'FR50 tinker build' for pics/details etc.
427carguy
Cheers yea its going to be hard tail, and cheers for the offer MKD but im planning something a bit lower for the bars than mounting them on top
MKD
The top half of most bmx jump bars make good cheap low clubman bars, just chop off below the cross bar and use that to mount them flipped in a stem etc.....or you thinking halfway down the fork lower? Looking at those pics makes me want to learn to weld
427carguy
Good idea, but im thinking more like just above the head light sort of height
427carguy
Got involved in this over the last week to get it running for QCR dirt master, Its not the prettiest but it all works and does a sweet burnout. Now need to get some motivation to strip and finish properly.
